Keto Recipes With Heavy Cream
Can You Use Heavy Cream On Keto?
Balance is essential if you’re following an eating plan. Or, if you’re just winging it and enjoying life as it’s served to you. It doesn’t matter who you are or what type of eating philosophy (or not) you follow. Everyone enjoys what they enjoy. The keto diet is no different.
Although you may be giving up some of the carb-laden meals you once enjoyed while on your keto journey. Finding balance in tasty ways is one strategy of sticking with it.
Now, I know not everyone feels that heavy cream is a splurge. But, it is to me and that is one reason my taste buds were thrilled to experiment with this recipe.
Heavy cream or HWC as it’s commonly referred to in the keto community is ultra-low in carbs coming in around 2 grams per 1/4 cup. As with any successful eating or maintenance plan, calories are an important factor. 1/4 cup of HWC will total around 205 calories.
So, yes! You can use heavy cream on keto but do so while keeping your eye on the full picture of your daily or weekly nutrition plan.

Cream And Chicken Have History
I know you’re picturing a few of your favorites as you’ve just read those words. Two that popped into my mind were creamy chicken pot pie and decadent creamy chicken alfredo.
It’s the latter that inspired me to add chicken meatballs to this keto recipe.
So What Can I Do With Heavy Cream, You May Ask?
The answer is a lot, outside of coffee and the mental picture of your favorites.
You’re on Tiktok, right? Isn’t everyone these days? There is an account that I follow and he prepares low-carb dishes. His name is chefbob8 and as I write this, he has over 500 thousand followers and over 6 million likes on his videos. That’s enough clout for me to pay attention!
It was his sausage alfredo with cabbage that caught my eye. Well, my belly really.
Chefbob8’s method has him preparing a full cabbage in a vessel that he cooks on the grill. He also grills sausage links to add to the dish. Now, there is nothing wrong with sausage. This girl can eat and I love me some sausage.
But calories – it’s always important to keep calories in check. I had leftover ground chicken so I decided to make mini chicken meatballs to add to my protein goals and to keep the calories a bit lower. I can’t say it entirely worked. As this recipe was over the top delicious and I (may) have had an extra portion.
So, what can you do with heavy cream? Add it to cabbage along with sausage and chicken meatballs.
